Lincoln Land Chapter Events - 2026​​​​

 

For calendar year 2026 the Chapter Leadership continues to explore alternatives for meetings, events and venues for meetings and events.  

Some examples will be evening dinners, and possibilities such as ZOOM meetings, lunch meetings, short cocktail discussion hours, and community projects.. 

We are currently planning for 2026

These events potentially could be planned for not just the Springfield and Decatur area venues, but for other areas around our chapter area

(31 Counties in Central Illinois), depending on how our Chapter membership may grow.

  • Friday, February 13, 2026 - Chapter Dinner Meeting

Northfield Center, Springfield, IL

Program:  Mark DePue, LtCol, USA (Ret)

TOPIC:  Presentation of Mark's Interview with Adm Ron Thunman, who passed away last year.

He spent his life in submarines, and was one of the best storytellers  Mark has ever interviewed, including stories about Adm. Hyman Rickover, commanding an attack sub sneaking around off the coast of the USSR, helping find the Titanic and working with author Tom Clancy (Hunt for the Red October).
